You’ve discovered the newest secret in Columbia Heights. Congratulations on listening to that curious voice deep within yourself, prompting you to pick up a print from one of our 17 Little Free Libraries in the city.
The C.H.U. – better known as The Columbia Heights Underground – is intended to be a multi-edition print containing news reports, art, information and updates for the City of Columbia Heights, MN. This effort is 100% independently created and produced, and in no way linked or funded by the government of Columbia Heights. In fact, at the time of this writing, they are completely oblivious to its creation.
Columbia Heights, also recognized as The City of Peace, has been recognized as a self-sufficient and engaged community. It only makes sense that a publication run by the people, for the people exists in this town, completely unaffiliated with government or corporate entities. The power of a city such as ours is found in the people, the residents, and those with a vested interest here.
What can you expect from The C.H.U.? You should expect independent reporting and analysis, local art and events, and the opportunity to stay informed and engaged with updates coming from a local resident, just like yourself.
At this moment, a timeline to release new editions has not been established; mainly because this is not about output, but about quality of information.
